A WordPress alternative that keeps your place in Google

Most people who look for a WordPress alternative want less upkeep and less risk. Here are the options, who each one suits, and how to migrate from WordPress without losing anything.

Why businesses leave WordPress

A WordPress site with a handful of plugins needs attention every week. Plugins need updating, updates sometimes clash, and a site left alone becomes a target: most newly reported WordPress vulnerabilities are in plugins. Underneath it all runs PHP, which had two critical vulnerabilities of its own in October 2026.

The costs add up too: hosting, premium plugins and licences, and someone to keep it all current. For a site whose job is to say who you are and what you do, that is a lot.

WordPress alternatives compared

There is no single best choice. It depends on how much you want to do yourself.

OptionSuitsWho maintains itEditing it yourself
Keep WordPress, outsource the maintenance Feature-heavy sites you edit yourself every day Your maintenance provider Everything, in the dashboard
Site builder (Wix, Squarespace, Webflow) People who want to build and update it themselves The platform; the content is up to you Everything, in the editor
Shopify Web shops, including stores leaving WooCommerce Shopify; theme and apps are on you or your agency Products, pages and orders

Static site with maintenance (us) Business owners who want a fast, secure site without touching it We do You send a WhatsApp message; one hour a month is included

Do you want to add and edit pages yourself every day? Then a site builder, or WordPress with proper maintenance, will suit you better than what we do.

How to migrate from WordPress

  1. We map your current site: every page, blog post and image, and which of them Google has indexed.
  2. You get a preview built from your existing copy, photos and reviews.
  3. Every old address gets a 301 redirect to the matching new page, so the new site keeps the rankings the old one earned.
  4. Your domain and email stay yours. We only change where the domain points; your email keeps working.
  5. From then on we maintain the site: hosting, backups, security updates and an hour of changes a month.

Running a shop on WooCommerce?

Then we recommend Shopify. Shopify can import products and customers from WooCommerce; we take care of the theme, product pages, payment methods such as iDEAL | Wero, and the redirects.

Questions

Can I bring my blog posts with me?

Yes. We move existing posts across, images included. If a post gets a new address, we redirect the old one, so links and Google rankings keep working.

What happens to my contact form?

It comes along. Submissions still land in your inbox, without WordPress or PHP on the server.

Is WordPress bad, then?

No. For sites that are edited a lot and need many features, it is a sound choice, and the maintenance comes with it. If your site is mostly a handful of fixed pages, you are paying for upkeep on features you don’t use.

How long does the migration take?

First you see a preview. Once you approve it, most sites are live within about a week.

Can I still edit the site myself?

Not in a dashboard. You send changes over WhatsApp and we make them; an hour a month is included in the monthly fee. If you want to edit pages yourself every day, one of the other options will suit you better.
